The creatures on the unexplored planet largely eat power crystals. In the LEGO Rock Raiders video game they are called Energy Crystals. In North American magazine and advertisement media they are called Brickonium. Other LEGO themes have featured similar crystals, including those silver ones I forget the name of in Aquazone and smaller gemstone versions of power crystals in Mars Mission and some rainbow ones in Power Miners.
