Preben Dewald Hansen (c. 1944 − 19 October 2000)[1] was a Danish teacher who was the product manager at LEGO Publishing.

Biography

In 1968 Preben Dewald was hired at the Klostergades School in Vejle. After Klostergades closed in 1978,[2] Dewald started working at the Skibet School [da].

Dewald taught language, mathematics, visual arts, and music at Skibet.

He started lecturing at Vejle's binding centre and wrote a book about the city's history, Vejle Bys Historie i korte træk.[1]

Preben Dewald is listed in the acknowledgements for The Ultimate LEGO Book as one of two LEGO Group employees at LEGO Futura who helped produce the book, along with Jan Harder Blæsild.[3]

Following a restructuring at the LEGO Group in 1999, Dewald left the company and returned to Skibet School, where he taught a grade 1 class containing children of some of his former students. Following a summer vacation in Norway in 2000, Dewald fell ill. He was hospitalised shortly after the start of the school year, and died on 19 October 2000, aged 56.[1]
