Do you think its a good idea to have maps for the Rock Raiders levels? If so what's a good look? Something immitating the radar look? A DUTI screenshot? Using the world textures? Some other look that'd be easier to understand? And should it be one image or separate ones for different map types?

I think pictures taken with a few different map editors showing different views would be good, like DUTI/MapEdit for showing how it would have looked when DDI created the map, a 2d view from MapCreator, and a 3d view with GeoTool.

A view from DUTI/MapEdit is probably especially important for the PS1 levels since we can actually edit those now with that tool

Alright, can try textures. I was gonna go with like a more simple colored map kinda looking like the radar map maybe, or maybe with some patterns like manic miners colorblind radar if that'd make it more readable, was worried using textures would be jumbled looking and hard to make out but maybe not

Also a lot of beta maps wouldn't make sense in anything except DDI's own map editors due to using the soil/soft soil wall type that goes unused in the retail/final game.

None of the other editors we have feature graphics for displaying flood water tiles either now that I think of it.

And of course DDI was never consistent with the names of the different wall types, so I'm not sure what would be done about that.

I don't think that'd matter for this, I just was wanting to know if people would prefer wall textures, DUTI, or a custom radar looking thing. Both as far as whatd look better, and also whether using something original instead of DDI-made stuff is preferable if that's a concern or not

No just a png or svg I guess, that'd be neat but complicated. I guess another thing was if it was just one single image showing all the map data (surf, dugg, cryore, etc, but probably not height); I wouldn't want it to get too detailed and confusing
