== A note about the notes == | |||
This article has a large number of notes that are not really about the subject as much as its medium. I felt that it was best to include these to help explain some of the more technical elements about newsgroups in the history section, due to how much Usenet has been forgotten in the decades since the World Wide Web became the dominant force online. I would just link to Wikipedia usually, but frankly their Usenet articles aren't very good. Usenet sub-citations
I had Usenet posts quoted by print and web sources also cited, but that was starting to get too long and cumbersome so I removed them. I will save them here though for anyone who wants them. Ringtail Raider 22:40, 13 February 2026 (CET)

A note about the notes
This article has a large number of notes that are not really about the subject as much as its medium. I felt that it was best to include these to help explain some of the more technical elements about newsgroups in the history section, due to how much Usenet has been forgotten in the decades since the World Wide Web became the dominant force online. I would just link to Wikipedia usually, but frankly their Usenet articles aren't very good. Ringtail Raider 04:03, 14 February 2026 (CET)
